CASE STUDY

We met this lovely girl at 13 years old.  She was congenitally missing her lateral incisors and her adult canines had erupted into their space.  Her baby canines were still in place behind the adult canines, but their roots were short and would soon be lost.  

 

This was a wonderful case in many ways.  Our patient was incredibly sweet, kind and generally fun to be around.  It was also one of the few cases where Dr. Pam Porteous-Burke and Dr. Lee Porteous were able to co-treat a case utilizing their different specialties.

Dr. Lee Porteous treated her with orthodontics (braces) to put her adult canines in the correct position.  Dr. Pam completed her implant surgery and made her custom zirconia (highly specialized porcelain) abutments and all porcelain crowns to give her naturally beautiful lateral incisors.

We completed her case at age 18.  This case required multiple phases of dentistry (ortho, oral surgery, implants, restorative implant crowns), but her outcome was phenomenal.

FILLINGS

Our patient had a history of severely dry mouth which contributes to rapid decay at the gumline. We were able to restore these teeth with beautiful Composite (tooth colored) fillings.

Our patient had trauma to their front teeth at a young age.  We replaced these old porcelain and metal crowns with high translucency all porcelain crowns to create a naturally beautiful smile.

ALL-PORCELAIN CROWNS

This patient's teeth became short and worn as a result of acid erosion and grinding.  As teeth become shorter they become weaker and more susceptible to breaking, often resulting in tooth loss. The appearance of your face changes as lip and bone support are lost.  We restored this smile with high strength porcelain crowns to re-create a natural and long-lasting smile.

CASE STUDY

PORCELAIN VENEERS

An esthetically difficult case is restoring a single front tooth.  This patient was unhappy with the appearance of this gold crown.  The crown had a poor fit causing decay around the tooth.  To be as conservative to the tooth as possible, we restored the single tooth with a high translucency porcelain veneer.
